OSF HealthCare to Sell OSF Saint Clare Home
The Board of Directors of OSF Healthcare System has decided to sell OSF Saint Clare Home to Petersen Health Care.
Petersen is a locally based entity operating long term care facilities in communities throughout Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Missouri. Petersen Health Care is an expert in the provision of long term care and has many years of service in long term care facility operations.
In correspondence to employees and residents, Kevin Schoeplein, CEO of OSF Healthcare System, noted, “One of the greatest duties we have as health care providers is to continually evaluate how we can best meet the health care needs of patients, residents and the populations we serve with the resources we possess in a manner that provides superior outcomes of care and a superior patient experience. With that priority in mind, we have determined that partnering with another organization will best serve those who have long-term or extended care needs in central Illinois. Therefore, the Board of Directors of OSF Healthcare System has decided to sell OSF Saint Clare Home to Petersen Health Care."
All existing staff will be offered employment under the new ownership of Petersen. It is anticipated that the ownership transfer will be completed by February 1, 2013. After discussion with the Diocese of Peoria, the facility will be able to continue regular provision of Catholic services at the facility including regularly scheduled Masses.
“Petersen Health Care could not be more excited to add this wonderful facility to our outstanding lineup. We fully intend to continue the long tradition of outstanding care and high quality service OSF Saint Clare Home and Petersen Health Care are known for in the health care industry!” explained Mark Petersen, owner of Petersen Health Care. “We are particularly excited to embrace the role the Catholic faith plays in the Home and we will continue to ensure their strong presence continues long into the future.”
