OSF Hospice Home Now Open
OSF Home Care Services is proud to announce that the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home is now open and accepting patients. Patients must be referred to the OSF Hospice Home by their physician.
Located in Peoria, Illinois on Route 91, the OSF Hospice Home is a home away from home for terminal patients who:
- Have symptoms that cannot be managed at home;
- Have only a short period of time left before they die and are unable to remain in their home;
- Need brief respite for the primary caregiver
The staff is available 24/7 to provide nursing care, relieve suffering and support family members. The home provides patients and their families the opportunity to focus on their relationship while receiving medical attention. The OSF Hospice Home is a place to live and accept life’s end in peace, with comfort and dignity.
This is the first hospice home in central Illinois and only the fourth in the state of Illinois.
OSF estimates that nearly 1,200 patients and their families will be served each year by this hospice home.
The OSF Hospice Home team is currently recruiting volunteers to serve at the home to meet the needs of patients and their families.
