OSF Ranks 25th Among United States Integrated Healthcare Networks
OSF HealthCare is proud to be ranked for the past 13 consecutive years within the Top 100 of nearly 600 Integrated HealthCare Networks in the United States. OSF currently ranks 25th as reported by SDI, a healthcare informatics joint venture firm that publishes the report annually in the leading industry publication, Modern HealthCare.
SDI has been ranking integrated systems since 1994 and this year’s Top 100 was chosen from nearly 600 non-specialty regional integrated health networks from around the country. The rating system analyzes each IHN’s performance level in the following categories: hospital utilization, financial stability, physician participation, services and access, contractual capabilities, out-patient utilization, integration and integrated technology. The eight categories consist of thirty-three weighted attributes that SDI has determined to be the key indicators for assessing the current and future success of an IHN.
Last year OSF HealthCare was ranked 16th and in 2009 was ranked 25th.
Rankings aside, OSF HealthCare dedicates itself to serving patients and their families from across Illinois and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We are guided by the Mission, Philosophy and Leadership of The Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis, who began their health care ministry in 1877, serving patients out of a small hospital located on South Adams Street in Peoria, Illinois. The Sisters had been instructed by their Founding Superior, Mother M. Frances Krasse, who from her death bed told them, “. . .Serve with the greatest care and love. . .”
That simple phrase remains the foundation of all that we do at OSF HealthCare.
“In the spirit of Christ and the example of Francis of Assisi, the Mission of OSF HealthCare is to serve persons with the greatest care and love in a community that celebrates the Gift of Life.”
