Connections 129: Patient Feedback

Last week, I promised to share some of the patient feedback we have received from grateful family members who have had their advance care plans prepared prior to the onset of a dire health-related situation. Here are some example responses:

  • Unfortunately my husband passed away December 2nd. We had just decided to do planning when Susan came in, explained, and helped with a somewhat sad but necessary step. I thank God and Susan not knowing things would be taken care of in just a few short months. I take solace in knowing everything went as Bob wanted. Thank you again.
  • Doing this process was much needed for our family and spouse to know my wishes. Somewhat hard to do in the realization that those decisions are coming closer in the yard stick of life. Thank you for facilitating these needed documents.
  • My father-in-law, in Washington state, is dying of cancer and has not completed a will or planned for his end of life or life-sustaining directives. I have had this opportunity to understand the importance of this type of planning through my husband’s military career. I found this process, while I am healthy and relatively young very pragmatic and reassuring!! This is very smart to give your patients an opportunity to do this in the safe and realistic manner before being forced to. Thank you!

Just a reminder that based upon our readership survey we are publishing “Supportive Care Connections” just twice each month, on the first and third Tuesdays instead of weekly.
