How do I communicate with my physician so that they understand I want all my outpatient testing done at OSF?

Don’t be afraid to be speak up and inform your provider you want to have your tests or procedures done at OSF Heart of Mary. This is your health care after all! If you need assistance feel free to reach out to OSF Heart of Mary. Please call (217) 431-4858 for assistance.

What if another provider not affiliated with OSF tells me that they cannot send my order to OSF?

Any provider is able to send an order to OSF Heart of Mary. However, we can assist you and work with your provider. If you feel your provider is not listening to your request, please call (217) 431-4858 for assistance.

If I get my tests done at OSF, how do I get the results to my doctor?

Your provider should be able to access your results using the electronic records system or we can provide a CD to you or to your provider. You can also request images, reports, etc., from Medical Records and pick them up to keep for you own reference.

Also some information is available through your OSF MyChart account and other records can be uploaded to OSF MyChart as requested. If you are having problems accessing records, Please call (217) 431-4858 for assistance.

Is it more expensive to have my tests done at OSF than with other non-OSF providers?

It shouldn’t be, but you should always consult with your insurance carrier. There are regulations that require all providers to only charge what is considered fair market value. In fact, there are cases where it may be less expensive to have your health care provided by OSF Heart of Mary.

Is there a reason I cannot have my tests done at your facility when ordered by a non-OSF physician?

For the most part, there is no reason you cannot have the majority of your tests done at OSF HealthCare Heart of Mary Medical Center. Please contact our Patient Navigator at (217) 431-4858 to help you schedule your appointment. The results can be shared electronically with local physicians.

What do I do if OSF does not provide the service ordered by another provider?

OSF Heart of Mary is just one hospital in the OSF HealthCare family. If we do not provide a service you need at our location in Urbana it is most likely provided by another one of our facilities. Also, OSF Heart of Mary is adding new services all the time.

Can I switch to an OSF provider so this is not an issue?
