Now Providing Neonatology Services
As part of our commitment to the Bloomington-Normal region, OSF HealthCare St. Joseph Medical Center now offers around the clock neonatology care by experienced neonatology experts from OSF HealthCare Children's Hospital of Illinois in Peoria.
These specialists bring a higher level of expertise on-site for those newborns who need more in-depth care, as well as provide safe stabilization and transfer should the newborn need to be sent to OSF Children's Hospital.
It is comforting for parents to know that the same providers caring for their newborn at OSF St. Joseph will provide care at OSF Children's Hospital right here in central Illinois without having to travel to Chicago or St. Louis.
Our private rooms offer you a comfortable, home-like setting for all of your care.

For Those Expecting More
The Birthing Center has 15 large, private labor/delivery/recovery/postpartum rooms, where moms spend their entire stay, from admission to discharge. The rooms create a warm and relaxing environment that allow us to provide family-centered care.
Circle by OSF
OSF HealthCare now offers a smartphone app for expectant and new moms called Circle by OSF.
It delivers trusted, personalized heath information and relevant services from OSF HealthCare and our partners. It's free and easy to download.
Get the Circle by OSF at the App Store for iPhones or Google Play for Androids.
In addition to our nursing staff, we have a board-certified lactation consultant and a certified lactation specialist who are here to assist with breastfeeding.
Choosing to breastfeed can be one of the most important decisions a mother makes to protect their baby's health and well-being.
We offer outpatient appointments and also a new, innovative TeleLactation service.
Moms of Beautiful Babies
The Birthing Center offers a social network for new moms called Moms of Beautiful Babies (The MOBB).
The group meets every Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m. in the Business and Conference Center.
Whether you come late, leave early, or stay the whole time, the social group is flexible and informal.
OSF HealthCare St. Joseph Medical Center is the Bloomington area's only designated Baby-Friendly hospital – the gold standard of maternity care. We are one of 19 locations in Illinois.
This prestigious designation means we offer breastfeeding mothers the information, confidence and skills needed to successfully initiate and continue breastfeeding their babies. We want to ensure moms and infants receive the most appropriate, evidence-based care.
When it's time to deliver, our highly trained staff of physicians, nurses and care professionals will provide you with the exceptional quality care you deserve.
We are confident that you will love your experience because our care exceeds the target goal in nearly every category measured by the annual Leapfrog Hospital Survey.
Leapfrog is a national nonprofit organization driving a movement forward in the quality and safety of American health care.
Preparing for Baby
The goal of the OB Nurse Navigator Program is to help expectant moms feel confident and comfortable before the big day arrives.
When an expectant mom chooses to join the program, she will be assigned her own personal nurse navigator. Beginning at 20 weeks the navigators act as a personal guide for expectant parents.
Birth and Maternity Classes
OSF HealthCare St. Joseph Medical Center offers a variety of classes for moms-to-be and their loved ones.
These classes can help you prepare your home in advance of your little one's arrival, give you a glimpse at what to expect at delivery and guide you through the "how-to's" of caring for your newborn.
