OSF Moeller Cancer Center
We understand the questions and worry that come with a cancer diagnosis. That is why we designed the OSF Moeller Cancer Center to reduce stress.
Everything from the Alton, Illinois location to the layout was designed to give you the best care possible in a relaxing environment that meets your physical, mental and spiritual needs – right here in the Riverbend.
We've adopted a collaborative approach to give you the best individualized care. Working together, your Cancer Care Team will meet regularly to discuss your case.
And throughout the process, they will meet with you and your family to address all your concerns - and to listen and understand.
What's more, our ongoing investment in technology means you'll have access to the latest diagnostic tools and treatments in the region, keeping you close to home and family.
The OSF Saint Anthony's Cancer Care Team will be behind you and beside you - from diagnosis through treatments.
Because for all of us, cancer is personal.
Where Can I Find Hope?
People initially come to us for the clinical experience and expertise of our team at the OSF Moeller Cancer Center, but our Mission to serve them with the greatest care and love is what gives them courage and hope during this difficult time.
Our board-certified oncologists, highly skilled oncology nurses, patient navigators, social workers, pastoral care team members and dietitians are there from diagnosis to final treatment.
We designed the OSF Moeller Cancer Center so that our cancer team can gather and discuss each case, providing a multidisciplinary approach to treatment.
New state-of-the-art office spaces, exam rooms, laboratory, pharmacy and classroom spaces are incorporated into the layout to encourage collaboration.
Throughout treatment, our team will meet with you and your family to answer your questions and address your concerns.
And with our connection to OSF Innovation, one of the Top 10 simulation and education centers in the U.S., our team at the new OSF Moeller Cancer Center will be able to utilize new tools, techniques and devices that improve patient outcomes.
Does it Matter Where I Go for Treatment?
Yes and no. Cancer treatments have been standardized across the United States.
All cancer facilities have access to the same medications and evidence-based best practices. There is no need to travel for standard cancer care.
However, due to the complexity of cancer treatments, new drugs and treatments go through a rigorous trial and approval process. There are opportunities to enroll in a drug trial or experimental treatment study, but you must go to a facility authorized for that research or study.
We participate in numerous national research trials, and our team will inform you if you qualify for one of these trials.
Center of Excellence
In addition, our cancer program is the only program in the area to be certified by the American College of Surgeons as a Cancer Center of Excellence.
Being a designated Cancer Center of Excellence means that we offer you a multidisciplinary approach and access to all available treatment options.
Because cancer and cancer therapies affect so many aspects of your health, you will benefit from having more than one doctor involved in your care so they can share information and, with you, collectively make the best decision regarding your care.
