Fox River Cancer Center at OSF Saint Elizabeth
A cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming for patients and their families. At the Fox River Cancer Center on the campus of OSF Saint Elizabeth Medical Center, you won't face this journey alone.
Through our OSF HealthCare nurse navigator program, a dedicated registered nurse is available as a member of your cancer care team to facilitate personalized cancer care and be a single point of contact for you and your family.
Your navigator is an educator, an advocate, and a specially trained friend to assist in all aspects of your care experience.
When clinical issues arise, your navigator can refer you to the appropriate physician's office or other health care resources. Serving as a link between you, physicians and the services you will need, your nurse navigator will ensure that appropriate education, support and resources are provided every step of the way.
Dedicated Care
OSF HealthCare is dedicated to continuously improving the care it provides to the community. OSF recently added 3,800 square feet to its radiation oncology department in the Fox River Cancer Center.
Completed in fall 2018, the new space accommodates a Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator – allowing specialists to direct higher doses of radiation to the cancer cells without harming the healthy surrounding tissue.
The expansion also includes a Positron Emission Tomography – Computed Tomography (PET/CT) scanner, which provides caregivers more accurate and detailed images for more accurate diagnosis and monitoring.
