Welcome to Almost Home Kids
OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois is proud to offer an Almost Home Kids location - one of only three in the nation - in Peoria, Illinois.
Almost Home Kids provides transitional and respite care in a home-like setting for children with complex medical needs and their families.
Funded entirely through community donations, Almost Home Kids is a 12-bedroom, 21,000-square-foot home.
Who We Serve
We provide compassionate, competent care to children from birth to age 21 who have complex medical needs.
Often they are dependent on medical technology such as ventilators, tracheostomy tubes, G-tubes, central lines or oxygen. Almost Home Kids has served children with over 400 different diagnoses.

- Cancer
- Cardiac Anomalies
- Cerebral Palsy
- Chromosomal Disorders
- Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome
- Gastric Anomalies - Short Gut Syndrome
- Metabolic Disorders
