What to Expect
Before your appointment
We will ask you to have your medical records sent for our review, including records of previous doctor notes, blood tests, imaging, medications, surgeries or other treatments.
To make the most of your first appointment, it’s especially important that these records are shared in advance so your provider has the opportunity to review your records before meeting with you.
Call your provider’s office for more information about how to obtain and deliver your printed or electronic medical record.
We encourage you to first meet with one of our specially trained health care professionals for educational sessions to learn the Creighton Model charting system. This chart of your menstrual cycle will help your FertilityCare provider diagnose and treat you.
Depending on your needs, you may meet with this provider before or after these educational sessions.
Together, we will determine if your reproductive system is functioning as it should.
Your diagnostic work up may include:
- Creighton Model education and charting
- Blood tests to assess the function of the pituitary gland, thyroid, ovaries and other organs
- Other testing such as saline ultrasound, dye study of the fallopian tubes and uterus called a hysterosalpingogram (HSG) or specialized surgical procedures, such as using a lighted scope to view the uterus or pelvic area.
For married couples experiencing fertility problems, male factors are also evaluated. The patient starts with a consultation, which includes reviewing his health and surgical history, a physical examination, review of medications and other testing as needed.
Based on what your providers learn during these tests and conversations, we create an individualized treatment plan for each woman or couple.
Our FertiltyCare providers utilize medical and surgical techniques called NaProTechnology to treat women’s health issues naturally.
Fertility and gynecological health is an important aspect to someone’s quality of life, and we are passionate about helping our patients reach their health goals. If you have any questions or would like to speak to one of our FertiltyCare practitioners, please call the office nearest you. We look forward to serving you with the greatest care and love.
