Your unwavering support serves as a beacon of hope and healing for like children like D’Ari who was diagnosed with craniosynostosis, a condition where the bones of her skull fused prematurely before her brain finished developing.

D’Ari’s mom, Cara, was devastated hearing that the little girl she had waited so long for would have to undergo a lifelong journey of surgeries and medical treatment. She had her first surgery at seven months old.

Despite Cara recounting this time as scary and traumatic, the caregivers were able to provide comfort and reassurance to their family. Cara always felt included in D’Ari’s care plan, her neurologist frequently rounded on her personally and ensured that D’Ari and her family had everything they needed.

Cara and her family have sincere gratitude for each and every person they came into contact at OSF Children’s Hospital. From clinical staff to those who worked in room service or in the cafeteria, they truly felt the love and compassion that they hear about when others describe OSF HealthCare.

Today, D’Ari is a wonderful four-year-old who is thriving and receives care close to home at OSF Children’s Hospital!
