Little Company of Mary Associates
The work of the Sisters worldwide is assisted by the Associates of the Little Company of Mary, lay men and women who carry on the mission of Mary Potter in the Sisters' institutions, in their communities, and in their own lives. The Lay Associate program world wide has become increasingly important in carrying on the legacy Mary Potter began. Associates support the Sisters through their service, prayer and mutual sharing of their talents and insights. Years ago, Mary Potter spoke of the "Greater Company of Mary" in describing the lay people who assisted her, and that tradition continues today.
The Associates, and the employees, administrators and physicians at Little Company facilities around the world make up the Greater Company of Mary. Each member, in his or her own way, carries on the spiritual heritage of the early Sisters through their efforts each day, bringing comfort, care and compassion to the sick and dying. The 150 year history of the Little Company of Mary Sisters has truly been a legacy of love. It began with the birth of Mary Potter and is now being fulfilled by the Sisters and all those who support the Little Company of Mary around the world today.
