CHL Director Receives Prestigious ISU Honor

News Releases | Erin KennedyOn Friday, April 4, 2014, Erin Kennedy, Director of the Center for Healthy Lifestyles at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, was inducted into the Illinois State University 2014 College of Applied Science and Technology (CAST) Academy of Achievement. Kennedy was one of seven 2014 inductees chosen from 41,000 CAST alumni. 

According to the CAST Academy of Achievement website, “Induction into the CAST Academy of Achievement is an honor bestowed on graduates of the College of Applied Science and Technology. The Academy attempts to bring together thought leaders in their fields who, through their life work, serve as an inspiration to others to pursue similar career paths.” Inductees are nominated for this honor based upon contributions to their community within their chosen profession and demonstrating a commitment to ISU after graduation. 

Kennedy received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education with a concentration in Fitness Management from ISU in 1998 and her Master of Science Degree in Exercise Physiology from ISU in 2011. She has been the Director of the Center for Healthy Lifestyles since 2008, where she oversees employee wellness and health management not only at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, but throughout the Bloomington-Normal community, as well. 

Kennedy generously volunteers her time with various community wellness organizations. She currently serves as the Chair for the McLean County Board of Directors with the American Heart Association; is current co-chair and was an original member of the McLean County Wellness Coalition; and is an active participant with the Illinois State University School of Kinesiology and Recreation Advisory Council. 

“This prestigious honor represents Erin’s hard work and dedication in her field,” says OSF St. Joseph Medical Center President, Chad Boore. “Erin’s passion for health and wellness is contagious, which makes her a valuable asset to OSF St. Joseph Medical Center and to the Bloomington-Normal community as a whole.”
