OSF St. Joseph Medical Center has added a new hospital department. The OSF Sleep Center opens Thursday, April 3 and is located at 2411 East Washington Street in Bloomington. Dr. Venkata Dodda of OSF Critical Care, Pulmonary, and Sleep Medicine is the Medical Director of the OSF Sleep Center.
Formerly known as The Sleep Center of Central Illinois located at 2204 Eastland Drive, the OSF Sleep Center has relocated to a new building and is now solely an OSF St. Joseph Medical Center venture.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 25 percent of Americans report not getting enough sleep at night and nearly 10 percent experience chronic insomnia. “A number of chronic diseases and conditions, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity, and depression can be associated with insufficient sleep,” says Dr. Venkata Dodda, OSF Sleep Center Medical Director. “Getting a good night’s sleep should not be a luxury, but rather a necessity,” he continues.
The sleep specialists at the OSF Sleep Center will diagnose and treat people of all ages with all types of sleep disorders and conditions, including obstructive sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, narcolepsy, childhood parasomnias, and insomnia.
To celebrate the opening of the OSF Sleep Center, please join us for a blessing and dedication ceremony on Friday, April 4 at 9:15 a.m. at the new OSF Sleep Center location at 2411 East Washington Street. Coffee and light breakfast refreshments will be provided. Guests will also be offered a tour of the facility.
