Applications are now available for the OSF St. Joseph Auxiliary health care scholarship program, which awards scholarships annually to area students enrolled in health care-related fields such as nursing, radiology, and physical therapy, or area students attending medical school.
The Auxiliary will award $3,000 in scholarships to employees of OSF St. Joseph Medical Center or their immediate family members, a $2,000 scholarship to one area student, and a $1,000 scholarship each to two area students for the 2014-2015 academic year. Qualified students must be enrolled in a health care-related program at an accredited institution for the fall 2014 semester.
Applications can be picked up Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. from the OSF St. Joseph Foundation office, located in Eastland Medical Plaza I, Bloomington; or from the Auxiliary Gift Shop, located near the medical center’s Birthing Center entrance.
Applicants will be asked to submit an application, official transcripts, a personal statement, and two letters of reference. Top candidates will be invited for an interview. The deadline for applications is June 2, 2014.
Those awarded scholarships for the 2013-2014 academic year include: Maria Luisa Hernandez, Jenna Necessary, and Kaley Necessary, all of Bloomington; and Sarah Fehr of Fairbury.
