New OB/GYN Joins Women's Center

8/05/2014 - Escanaba, Michigan

The OSF St. Francis Women’s Center is pleased to welcome Casey Sager, MD, obstetrician/gynecologist. Dr. Sager received her doctor of medicine degree from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in East Lansing in 2010.

Born in Alpena and raised in Rogers City, Dr. Sager said she won a scholarship competition at Northern Michigan University during her senior year of high school. During the competition process she visited the community and campus and said she fell in love with the area.

She chose to attend NMU, where she earned her bachelor of science degree in physiology and psychology. A member of the American Congress of Obstetrician/Gynecologists and the American Medical Association, she is completing her OB/GYN residency training at St. Joseph Mercy Health System in Ann Arbor and will join the Women’s Center in late summer 2014.

“My husband (Steve) and I both pursued our undergraduate degrees in the U.P. and always wanted to go back. We loved the water, the beauty of the land, the friendly people and way of life. While searching OB/GYN practices in the area, I sought out OSF and the Women’s Center. After talking with Kim Johnson (an OB/GYN with the Women’s Center), I was even more convinced that OSF had great things to offer.”

Dr. Sager and her husband are in the process of looking for a new home in the area. In her free time, Dr. Sager enjoys playing softball, fishing, boating, camping, traveling, cooking and baking.
