OSF Saint James – John W. Albrecht Medical Center recently announced the 1st quarter Achievers In Mission (A.I.M.) for Excellence Award recipient for 2014. Cindy Brackney, of Saunemin, is a Patient Access Rep for OSF Ministry Services. Cindy has been an employee for 11 years and was selected for this honor due to her many wonderful and caring qualities, some of which were mentioned specifically as:
● Cindy will take on any task she is given. She has the “patient first” mentality and our patients feel at ease with her. Her willingness to always help anyone is natural.
● Her devotion to the Sister’s Mission.
Her Manager, Karen Stephens, stated, “Cindy goes above and beyond to help her fellow co-workers and patients. She works on processes with other departments to streamline our work flows. Cindy takes pride in her work and is one of those people that strive for making our processes as easy as can be for our patients. Patients have expressed how nice she is and how well she explains things to them. She does take the time to explain the forms that have to be signed and explains any delay that may present itself. Cindy enjoys line dancing and is an instructor in the area communities.”
Her co-workers say, “Cindy makes sure our patients and visitors leave with a good experience from the time of registration to completion of care given. She is always helping employees throughout the hospital with EPIC questions and she makes sure that employees fully understand the program. Cindy comes to work and works to the best of her ability day in and day out. You can always count on her! She is very deserving of the A.I.M. award for her dedication to her job!”
A patient’s family member stated, “I was at Saint James yesterday with my father while he was getting pre-op testing done. During the pre-registration process, Cindy Brackney took a great deal of time out of her day to get the Medicare coding correct for my father’s testing and upcoming surgery. I truly appreciated the attentiveness to the details to ensure that Medicare will appropriately pay for these bills. It is great to know that all the staff at Saint James is always looking out for their patients.”
With this honor Cindy received a framed certificate of appreciation, a monetary amount, reception in her department, a corsage and a special parking place for the quarter. Her name and picture were added to the A.I.M. for Excellence plaque located in the lobby.
