“A Gift from the Heart” Blood Drive in Memory of Matthew “MAC” Carlson

1/30/2014 - Bloomington, Illinois

Every two seconds someone is in need of blood in the United States. More than 41,000 blood donations are needed each day. OSF St. Joseph Medical Center and The American Red Cross are hosting a blood drive to help replenish the dwindling supply of blood.

The blood drive will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Thursday, February 13, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in the Coffman Conference Room. To make an appointment, please call (309) 662-3311, ext. 1030. Walk-ins are welcome. For every pint of blood donated, individuals will receive a Valentine’s Day treat.

The blood drive will be held in memory of OSF employee, Matthew “MAC” Alan Carlson, an avid blood donor before the donations of others became life-sustaining for him. Mac was a Clinical Laboratory Scientist at OSF St. Joseph up until his untimely death on December 13, 2013, at the age of 30. Please consider honoring Mac and donating blood this Valentine’s Day – a gift from the heart.
