“Journey to the Cure” to Benefit OSF Cancer Center in Pontiac

7/21/2014 - Pontiac, Illinois

On Saturday, August 23, OSF Saint James Foundation and Freakster’s Roadhouse in Pontiac are sponsoring a rock festival called “Journey to the Cure” that will benefit the remodeling of an OSF building on Ladd Street in Pontiac to become the new OSF cancer center. “Journey to The Cure” will be held in the grassy area behind Freakster’s Roadhouse at 5 p.m.

There will be two local bands, Averice and Robert Brown Band, followed by “Kevin Chalfant's Journey Experience” featuring Kevin Chalfant. If you remember “Don’t Stop Believing” or “Any Way You Want It,” then you will remember Kevin, originally from Streator, Illinois.

The familiar Journey songs have stood the test of time and are always crowd favorites. His show features all of the lights, sounds and Journey-esque atmosphere associated with what you expect from his show called The Journey Experience! This is not a cover band but a very talented singer who actually shared the stage with Journey. Kevin was a stand-in lead singer for Steve Perry with Journey LIVE! He performs all the hits that made Journey famous; one fabulous hit after another!

Another great musical artist, Derek St. Holmes will also be performing during this event. Derek is an American musician best known as the vocalist and rhythm guitar player for Ted Nugent's successful early career. You will not be disappointed with these acts. Tickets for “Journey to the Cure” are available for $20 each at www.brownpapertickets.com, Freakster’s Roadhouse, OSF Saint James Information Desk, Gift Shop, or Foundation office.
