The OSF Saint James – John W. Albrecht Medical Center Foundation is hosting a “Cards Against Cancer” raffle to help create a comfortable and compassionate treatment center for cancer in Pontiac.
Currently, these services are provided at the medical arts building on Water Street.
A plan has been developed to relocate these services to a remodeled location at 608 N. Ladd Street. Physicians from the Community Cancer Center in Normal come to Pontiac twice a week to see cancer patients and also administer chemotherapy. Moving patients to a newly remodeled facility on Ladd Street will provide a comfortable atmosphere for treatment and consultation. The employees have donated approximately $65,000 which will be used to purchase ten special chemotherapy chairs. OSF Saint James is asking for the community’s support in making the remainder of this project come alive.
“Cards Against Cancer” tickets are $1 each and will be sold at Freakster’s Roadhouse Music Hall at 902 W. Custer Avenue in Pontiac and also at OSF Saint James Information Desk and Gift Shop. Must be 21 years old or over to purchase a ticket.
The first week’s drawing is worth a minimum $500.00 cash. The tickets are good only for the next drawing which will be held at 7 p.m. every Tuesday at Freakster’s.
The weekly drawing will continue until the Queen of Hearts card is selected from a standard full deck of 52 cards. At the time of the drawing (ticketholder must be present to win), 50% of the prize pool will be awarded if the drawn ticket purchaser picks the Queen of Hearts from the deck. A complete list of raffle rules is available from the OSF Saint James Foundation or can be picked up at Freakster’s Roadhouse Music Hall.
