A reception honoring David Ochs, retiring President and CEO of OSF Saint James – John W. Albrecht Medical Center, is planned for Monday, December 1, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Pontiac Elks Club, 459 Elks Club Road in Pontiac. The event will offer businesspersons, area community leaders and government representatives the opportunity to share memories and extend their wishes to him and his family. Persons interested in attending should call the OSF Saint James Reservation Line at (815) 842-4973 no later than November 19.
Ochs joined OSF Saint James on May 16, 1988 as the administrator of St. James Hospital, located on East Water Street in Pontiac. During his 26 year tenure, Ochs oversaw many developments, including the construction of the current medical center on West Reynolds Street, the creation of a multidisciplinary physical rehabilitation center, the expansion of both inpatient and outpatient surgery services, the establishment of OSF Medical Group primary care and specialist clinics throughout Livingston County, and the growth of a state-honored emergency medical services system. In recent years, OSF Saint James has been recognized by numerous organizations for the quality and safety of its care, as well as patient satisfaction and engagement.OSF HealthCare is expected to name Ochs’ successor in November or early December.
