OSF HealthCare is proud to announce one of its hospitals has been recognized as one of the cleanest hospitals in the United States by Becker’s Hospital Review.
OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth is ranked third in the country for cleanliness. The rating is based on scores from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey in which 89 percent or more of patients reported their room and bathroom were always clean. The ranking is based on surveys from January through December 2013, the most recent data available.
95% of OSF Holy Family patients reported their rooms were always clean.
“This recognition validates what most of our employees and patients already tell us, that our hospital is exceptionally clean and well maintained and that the housekeeping staff takes a tremendous amount of pride in their work,” said Patty Luker, OSF Holy Family Medical Center CEO. “The housekeeping staff sets an extremely high standard and is dedicated to maintaining a clean environment, helping to prevent infection, and ensuring that all of our patients have a great experience.”
Dana Hall, Vice President of Support Services at OSF Holy Family, oversees the housekeeping staff which makes sure the facility is clean and works to exceed patients’ expectations.
“Two years ago we ranked sixth in the country and now we are number three. That is a testament to our dedicated and long-serving staff,” said Hall. “They really take ownership of the process and it shows. The community that supports us so much knows how hard the staff works to maintain such a clean facility. It’s nice to be recognized nationally as well.
