Kacie Hanchek of Manistique was recently hired as Manager of Community Relations and Development at OSF St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group. Within her position she will oversee efforts relating to fundraising; advertising, marketing and communications; and volunteer services.
Originally from Wilson, Mich., Hancheck had most recently served as the Marketing Communications Coordinator at Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital in Manistique, where she was responsible for community education, advertising, public relations, social media, volunteer services, capital fundraising initiatives, and event planning.
A graduate of North Central Area Schools, she received an Associate of Applied Science degree from Bay College and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration Management with a minor in Marketing from Lake Superior State University. She is a member of the St. Francis de Sales School Board, serving as chair and member of the Communications committee.
The daughter of Ted & Cindy Hanchek of Wilson, Hanchek said she is eager to move back to Delta County to be closer to friends and family. In addition to spending time with her family, she enjoys reading, traveling, running and walking. She also enjoys volunteering and said she is looking forward to becoming involved in local activities and events within her new role.
“Having grown up in this area, I am very excited to have the opportunity to move back and spread roots in Escanaba. The lakefront community has a lot of great attractions and amenities to offer and I am excited to enjoy them again. Working in this position at OSF will afford me the opportunity to meet a lot of great people and get involved in the community.”
Hanchek replaces Lanna Scannell, who accepted a new position within OSF Ministry Services in Peoria, Ill., earlier in the summer.
