Join OSF Holy Family Medical Center during National Cardiac Rehabilitation Week, February 8–15, to celebrate the life-saving impact of cardiac rehabilitation. OSF Holy Family aids in cardiac rehabilitation by reducing the potentially devastating effects of heart disease and improving quality of life for patients and their families.
Cardiac Rehabilitation Week, initiated by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR), coincides with both Valentine’s Day and American Heart Month in an effort to draw greater national attention to heart health. This year’s theme, “For the Heart, From the Heart,” honors the patients, families, and healthcare professionals who are dedicated to cardiac rehabilitation as a vehicle for a healthy lifestyle.
The OSF Holy Family Cardiac Rehabilitation offers monitored rehabilitation programs in Cardiac (Phase II and III) and Pulmonary. An optional adult fitness program is also available. The exercise equipment available includes Airdynes, Treadmills, Concept II rowers, Nustep, and free weights.
In December alone, OSF Holy Family performed; 261 EKG’s, 14 Stress Tests, five Holter Monitors, 10 Phase II Patient Visits and 171 Phase III Patient Visits.
Cardiac Rehabilitation will be moving to a new expanded location in the summer of 2015. The new facility will be around 2,000 square feet with a two lane track, new exercise and wellness equipment. It will be located in “D” wing of the hospital. It will have a separate entrance for convenience.
The current Cardiac Rehabilitation Center is located in the facility classroom C-319. For more information about the OSF Holy Family Cardiac Rehabilitation Center, please call (309) 734-1515.
