Three Executive Director positions have been added to the OSF St. Joseph Medical Center Administration team. These new positions will report to the leadership dyad of Dr. Paul Pedersen and Dr. Deb Smith.
Karen Thacker, RN, BSN, MS, NEA-BC, has accepted the role of Executive Director of Nursing. Karen previously served as the Director of Acute Care Nursing at OSF St. Joseph. In her new role, Karen will oversee all inpatient nursing units, Surgery, Emergency Department, Infusion Clinic, as well as all nursing support departments.
Kathleen Atkins, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, has accepted the role of Executive Director of Clinical Diagnostics. Kathy previously served as the Director of Surgical Services and Emergency Department at OSF St. Joseph. In her new role, Kathy will oversee all clinical departments including Radiology, Lab, Neurology, OSF Sleep Center, Center for Healthy Lifestyles, Cardiology, and Pharmacy.
Sue Herriott, MA, SPHR, has accepted the role of Executive Director of Support Services. Sue previously served as the Director of Human Resources at OSF St. Joseph. In her new role, Sue will have responsibility for Environmental Services, Facility Maintenance and Engineering, Food Services, Volunteer Services, Security, and Switchboard.
Additionally, to accurately reflect the change in organizational responsibility, Dr. Deb Smith, DNP, RN, MBA, NEA-BC, FAEN, has been promoted from Vice President to Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer/Chief Operating Officer.
