Tom Hammerton, President of OSF Healthcare Foundation, recently announced the promotion of Wendy Mitchell to the position of Executive Director for the Foundation. Her appointment was effective with the announcement and she will be reporting to Hammerton.
In her new role, Wendy will lead the operations of the OSF Healthcare Foundation, including implementing strategic priorities and alignment of Ministry directives under One OSF. Wendy will work collaboratively with Hammerton to implement a comprehensive development program on behalf of the OSF Healthcare System in preparation for a major capital campaign.
She will provide executive oversight and direction to fund development objectives of the Foundation and will develop and oversee major gift fundraising programs and methods designed to assess long term fundraising goals. Wendy will also manage development staff and will help determine efficient use of resources for maximum return on investment.
Wendy joined the OSF Saint Francis and Children’s Hospital of Illinois Foundation in February, 2010 as Director of Annual Fund. Since that time, she has overseen all fundraising and advocacy initiatives designed for Children’s Hospital of Illinois.
She’s worked collaboratively with Children’s Hospital leadership and caregivers to identify strategic funding priorities for the hospital and align donor constituencies. She has graciously served as the Interim Executive Director since November 2014, leading the strategic initiatives for the Foundation.
Wendy earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa. She is married to Brad Mitchell and they reside in Morton with their son, Jack.
