Throughout the month of June, OSF PromptCare clinics in Bloomington-Normal will celebrate the 20th anniversary.
OSF PromptCare began seeing patients in May 1995 in Eastland Medical Plaza II, adjacent to OSF St. Joseph Medical Center. Its official blessing and dedication ceremony was held on June 9, 1995.
OSF PromptCare now has four Bloomington-Normal locations. In addition to the Eastland Medical Plaza II location, there are clinics at the Center for Health at Ft. Jesse, the Center for Health at Nord Farms, and OSF Medical Group - College Avenue. On average, the clinics see 165 patients each day.
Designed to assess and treat sudden minor illnesses and injuries, OSF PromptCare clinics see patients when their primary care provider is busy or unavailable. PromptCare has on-site lab and X-ray services available, as well as a treatment room for performing minor procedures.
OSF PromptCare is closed only two days each year – Thanksgiving and Christmas—and its four Bloomington-Normal locations are currently staffed by 65 people including five physicians, 10 Advanced Practice Providers, registered nurses, radiology technicians, medical office assistants, and a biller/coder.
