OSF HealthCare is very pleased to announce that Ken Beutke has accepted the role of President for OSF Saint Elizabeth Medical Center.
As the president, Ken will now direct all internal operations of the medical center to ensure the organization continues to operate with clinical excellence and in a fiscally responsible manner to optimally fulfill the strategy of OSF HealthCare.
On being promoted, Ken noted, “I am honored and blessed to be called to serve in this leadership role with the Mission Partners of OSF Saint Elizabeth. During my interim time, the Mission Partners and the Ottawa area community have been welcoming and supportive. With all the transformational change occurring within health care, I am grateful to those who have entrusted me to lead OSF Saint Elizabeth Medical Center in advancing our Mission and serving our communities of the I-80 Region with the greatest care and love.”
Ken started with OSF Saint James Hospital in 1995 as the Director of Rehabilitation Services. For the past two months Ken has served admirably as the Interim President of OSF Saint Elizabeth Medical Center and before that for 17 years Ken was the Vice President of Organizational Development & Planning for OSF Saint James – John W. Albrecht Medical Center.
His administrative leadership areas of responsibility included Human Resources, Organizational Development & Education/Training, Strategic Planning, Marketing & Communications, Performance Improvement, Foundation/Development, Volunteer Services, Rehabilitation Services, Early Intervention & Developmental Therapy, Occupational Health and Wellness.
Ken was selected to lead some major Ministry-wide initiatives during the past few years including the most recent one of deploying the IC2it Culture of Accountability to all of our Mission Partners. Additionally, Ken led the efforts to create a Ministry strategy for leadership development and to transform Supply Chain Management from an entity-specific operating model to a health care system operating model.
Ken earned his Bachelor of Science degree and his Master of Science degree from Illinois State University, Normal, IL both in Speech-Language Pathology. Later he completed his Master of Science degree in Health Services Administration with academic honors from the University of St. Francis, Joliet, IL.
Ken has maintained his Speech-Language Pathologist license from the Illinois Dept. of Professional Regulations. He is very involved in his community including serving as a charter member and an executive committee member of the Livingston County Children’s Network and as a charter member of Leadership Livingston County.
Ken has served as an examiner for the Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence. He is married to Mary and they have three children, Kyle, Kirk and Megan.
