The OSF St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary has kicked off its annual “Lights of Love” campaign. For just $3, people can purchase a light in recognition of a friend or loved one.
Envelopes to purchase Lights of Love are available at Positively The Center for Success, Sayklly’s (North Lincoln Rd. location), Elmer’s County Market, T & T Hardware, the OSF St. Francis Hospital gift shop and front desk and through any OSF Auxiliary member. Funds raised are used to purchase needed equipment for St. Francis Hospital patients.
“This is a wonderful way for people to recognize or honor a friend or loved one during the holiday season,” said Kacie Hanchek, manager of community relations and development and director of volunteers at OSF. We receive requests for thousands of lights each year.”
Lights are hung on the hospital Christmas trees along US Highway 2 & 41. Trees will be lit as lights are purchased and will shine throughout the Christmas season.
The campaign continues through December 31st. Names of those recognized through Lights of Love are listed in the Daily Press in January. Funds raised are used to provide needed new equipment and technology for OSF St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group patients.
