OSF St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group is pleased to welcome Michael J. Harris, a board certified urological surgeon and Escanaba native, to its medical staff.
Dr. Harris will begin seeing patients October 5th in Suite 206 of the OSF Medical Office Building and is now accepting new patients.
Dr. Harris received his Bachelor of Science degree with honors in biology from Michigan Technological University and his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Michigan. He completed a surgical internship and urology residency at the University of Kentucky.
After serving in the United States Air force as an instructor of urology at Wilfred Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, he established Northern Institute of Urology in Traverse City, Michigan.
More recently, he has been on the teaching faculty at Henry Ford Hospital and served as the chief of urology at the John Dingel VA Medical Center in Detroit.
He is widely published on prostate cancer surgical techniques and health care reform and has lectured extensively in the United States and internationally.
His areas of interests include prostate cancer detection and treatment, benign prostate enlargement, voiding problems, incontinence, urinary stone disease and bladder cancer.
