OSF HealthCare and Healing Pathways Cancer Resource Center have joined forces to ensure vital services including education, integrative therapies, nutrition classes, exercise programs, networking, and support remain available at no cost to residents of Rockford and surrounding communities for individuals affected by cancer.

Guests will not experience any interruptions or delays, and may continue to access services Monday through Friday at the 3921 E. State Street location, which will now be known as the OSF Healing Pathways Cancer Resource Center.

“We are pleased to extend our Ministry and provide competent, compassionate support when it’s needed most,” said Karen Brown, Vice President of Operations at Rockford-based OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center.

Guests do not need to be affiliated with OSF HealthCare to receive services at the OSF Healing Pathways Cancer Resource Center. “We encourage and welcome all persons who could benefit from this type of service, regardless of where they are in their treatment journey or the institution where they have elected to receive their medical treatment. This is a community service.”

Charlotte LeClercq, President of the Board of Directors for Healing Pathways Cancer Resource Center says, “The Center, which has been in operation since 2009, has experienced tremendous increases in guests using our no-cost services, and it has been challenging to continue to meet their needs,” says LeClercq. “OSF has been a great partner of ours from the beginning, and we are grateful to them for their commitment in ensuring that these services and program remain available to our entire community.”

According to Kathleen Siedenburg, Vice President of the Board, Healing Pathways began its exploration of finding a collaborative partner in January, 2016.

Healing Pathways’ goals were to continue educating the community regarding services offered, continue offering its current services, and ultimately expand its services. These goals will be achieved in the OSF partnership. “We are very grateful that OSF stepped up,” says Siedenburg.

OSF has long been a leader in providing state-of-the-art cancer care to the local community. Its strong commitment to care for the physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being of all patients align with the mission of Healing Pathways.

"The addition of Healing Pathways Cancer Resource Center further enables our Ministry to deliver on our promise of providing the highest level of cancer care and supportive services to cancer patients in our community,” says OSF’s Karen Brown.

The OSF Healing Pathways Cancer Resource Center will be relocated in the coming months, though officials say it won’t be far away from the current site and will be centrally located for guests’ ease and convenience. A grand opening event with tours is being planned.

Staff and volunteers have been integral in the programs created by Healing Pathways Cancer Resource Center, a tradition OSF HealthCare intends to continue. For more information or to volunteer, contact Melody Roccaforte at (815) 977-4123.
