A Seneca High School graduate turned orthopedic surgeon has returned home. After serving the Springfield region for a number of years, Dr. Holly (Eltrevoog) Brockman has joined the staff at OSF HealthCare, effective August 1.
Dr. Brockman received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois in Urbana and medical degree from Southern Illinois School of Medicine in Springfield. She completed her residency at Akron General Medical Center in Akron, OH. She continued her training at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO where she completed a fellowship in orthopedic trauma, developing specialized skills and interest in complex cases and fractures.
Dr. Brockman will be joined on September 1 by Dr. Mohammed Awad, another Illinois native. A graduate of Lincoln-Way Community High School in New Lenox, Dr. Awad received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago and medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, PA. He completed his residency at Midwestern University / St. James Hospital before heading to Detroit Medical Center Orthopedic Sports Medicine in Warren, MI for additional training. Here, he completed his fellowship in sports medicine and provided coverage for Detroit’s professional sports teams (the Pistons, Red Wings and Tigers).
Both physicians also specialize in general orthopedics, caring for patients with musculoskeletal problems such as sprains, strains, and overuse injuries, as well as knee, shoulder, and back pain. Together, they will join the care team led by Dr. Emmy Ho with OSF Medical Group – Ottawa Orthopedics at 1050 E. Norris Drive.
The trio will expand their coverage to Streator, beginning with the addition of a new office at 111 Spring Street in early September. Located on the fifth floor, the OSF Medical Group – Streator Orthopedics practice will begin seeing patients following the Labor Day holiday. Appointments for either location may be scheduled by calling (815) 431-5746.
