OSF St. Joseph Auxiliary Announces Scholarship Winners

6/22/2016 - Bloomington, Illinois

The OSF St. Joseph Auxiliary has announced its scholarship winners for the 2016-2017 school year. The program awards scholarships annually to area students enrolled in health care-related fields like nursing, radiology, and physical therapy, or area students attending medical school. This year the Auxiliary has awarded $8000.00 in scholarships.

The Auxiliary supports OSF St. Joseph Medical Center through fundraising. These scholarships are a direct result of the generosity of the community.

“Although I have been a nurse for over 40 years it was the availability of many such scholarships that made nursing education more affordable for me,” said Deb Smith, Chief Nursing Officer at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center. “Donations from our OSF Auxiliary to these students seeking a health care degree assists in keeping a future workforce ready. The scholarship may also be the first tie to OSF that a future nurse, doctor, pharmacist or other professional has.”
