A longtime Streator surgeon is set to relocate in early July. Dr. Caner Celeboglu notified his patients in a letter late last month that he would be closing his existing office but would continue his services under new employment with OSF HealthCare.
Currently practicing at 104 Sixth Street, Celeboglu will pack up and move July 5 to the neighboring OSF Center for Health – Streator building on 111 Spring Street. The new practice will open on the facility’s fifth floor and will be known as OSF Medical Group – Streator General Surgery.
“The decision to join OSF HealthCare was made after carefully considering many factors, most importantly, the impact on our existing patients and to this community,” said Celeboglu.
He also added that integrating fully with OSF would give him the best opportunity to continue providing patients with the very best care, both now and into the future.
“We will have new opportunities to improve and expand care,” Dr. Celeboglu said. “This means that a patient’s medical record will be moved to the OSF electronic medical records system. With a secure online connection to our office, you can view certain test results, request prescription refills, review your health history and more.”
Celeboglu also cited the opportunity to assist in shaping the new Streator practice as it continues to grow. He expects to help recruit, mentor and collaborate with other surgeons who are expected to share the new facility space.
Dr. Chenglu Liu, a physician with OSF Medical Group’s surgery practice in nearby Ottawa has already committed to joining Dr. Celeboglu on Spring Street. Liu will begin seeing Streator patients in August, tentatively scheduled for one day per week. He will continue seeing patients at his Ottawa office as well.
Both Dr. Celeboglu and Dr. Liu will continue to perform surgical procedures at OSF Saint Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa. Streator patients, however, will have the convenience of a local office for pre and post-surgical appointments.
Current patients of Dr. Celeboglu should not experience any disruption in care, but they are asked to make note of his new address for future visits. The phone number of (815) 673-5533 will remain unchanged.
