Sitting Pretty: New Chairs for Infusion Patients

5/02/2016 - Bloomington, Illinois

Thanks to generous donations from the community, patients at the OSF St. Joseph Medical Center Infusion Clinic will have a more comfortable time in treatment.

About $3,500 raised through the OSF St. Joseph Auxiliary Tree of Lights Fundraiser allowed the OSF St. Joseph Auxiliary to purchase five electronic lift recliners for the Infusion Clinic. Patients undergoing infusions often have to tolerate long sessions, and these recliners are designed to take some of the stress out of sitting.

"Some of our patients visit us so frequently, they become like extended family,” says Infusion Clinic Supervisor Jeremy Carby. “We are overjoyed to be able to give them the comfort and stability they deserve, and I am positive the new recliners will undoubtedly enhance our patient experience. I assure you, the chairs will be a hit!”

The OSF St. Joseph Auxiliary Tree of Lights Fundraiser is an annual holiday event, where donations are made to honor and remember cherished loved ones. Funds collected are always used for special projects in the Medical Center that directly impact patient care.

Carby went on to say, “I think I can speak for all of the Infusion Clinic staff when I say that we are so grateful to all of the participants that helped make the Tree of Lights Fundraiser a success.”

The OSF St. Joseph Auxiliary assists OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in promoting the health and welfare of the community through public relations and fundraising.
