OSF Healthcare Foundation unveiled a new interactive donor experience wall at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria during during a special blessing and unveiling Monday, November 14, 2016.

Honoring those whose philanthropic gifts have helped changed the face of health care throughout the OSF Ministry, the donor experience wall showcases stories of care and compassion patients and families have experienced at OSF, as well as the impetus behind and impact of philanthropic gifts, said Micki McCarthy, director of donor engagement and gift planning with the OSF Foundation.

“We continue to be incredibly blessed by the generous hearts of so many in our communities,” said McCarthy. “This new donor experience wall is a wonderful way to share the impact of their charitable giving and to highlight the way gifts have been used. Each gift we receive has a sacred component because it supports a sacred Mission.”

McCarthy described the wall as a “giant iPad” that allows visitors to explore at their leisure, listening to heartfelt stories shared by grateful patients – from the parent of a young pediatric patient, to the adult child of a parent in Hospice – as well as stories of “Why I Give,” featuring remarks by donors explaining the joy they have felt and the impact they have seen as a result of their gifts.

Unlike traditional donor walls, the donor experience wall at OSF can be continuously updated. It is user-friendly and contains features for children. According to Tom Hammerton, president of the OSF HealthCare Foundation, the wall is also unique in that it recognizes donors across the entire OSF Ministry who have passionately supported their local hospital, as well as Ministry-wide services.

During the unveiling ceremony, Sister Judith Ann Duvall, O.S.F. offered a special thank you to those who have offered their support of the Sisters’ Mission.

“This new donor experience wall will reflect the wonderful life of our Ministry and life-giving generosity of our dedicated donors. All of you who are recognized in this donor experience wall are forever in our Sisters’ prayers. We thank each and every one of you for giving of yourself, each in your own unique way. Our Sisters are so profoundly grateful,” said Sister Judith Ann.

The donor experience wall is located in the lobby of OSF Saint Francis Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of Illinois. All are welcome to view and discover its content.
