Officials from OSF St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group and members of the community gathered Wednesday at a groundbreaking ceremony for the future Gladstone Medical Office Building. The new facility will be located at 145 4th Avenue NE, Gladstone, across from Public Safety and will replace the existing clinic on Michigan Avenue. Total cost of the projected 18,000 square-foot facility is expected to be just over $5 million. The project is a joint venture between Cullinan Properties Ltd. and OSF Inc., the for-profit branch of OSF St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group.
“We are very excited to offer an updated facility to the patients we serve in Gladstone,” said David Lord, president at OSF. “The new Medical Office Building will improve accessibility and the way we serve our patients with the addition of rehabilitation services and wound care in one convenient location.”
During the ceremony, Dr. Kim Johnson, Director of Physician Practices at OSF shared her excitement for patients to begin receiving care in a larger, more modern facility. “I am confident that this new facility will give our patients a better care experience- provided by the same Community of Caregivers that the Gladstone community has entrusted with their care for the last 21 years.”
The new medical office building will offer additional space to accommodate more patient exam rooms and two state-of-the-art minor treatment exam rooms; new laboratory and medical imagining equipment, including a digital x-ray machine; and a designated space for occupational medicine and audiology services.
OSF St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group has provided care for 21 years in the existing Gladstone Medical Office Building. In addition to the Gladstone location, OSF serves approximately 45,000 people throughout Delta County and surrounding communities each year through hospital, physician and home based services.
