(Kewanee, IL / August 17, 2017) – OSF Rehabilitation Parkinson’s Support Group is sponsoring a .1K “Walk with Us” event. “Walk with Us” is a short walk that can go a long way to raise awareness for Parkinson’s Disease. The .1K walk (length of a football field) raises awareness and support for OSF Rehabilitation Parkinson’s Support Group. “It’s a fun way for our community to join together and support families caring for loved ones with Parkinson’s Disease,” stated Brea Cinnamon, DPT and Parkinson’s Support Group co-facilitator.
All attendees are invited to walk at a comfortable pace and wheelchairs will be available if participants are unable to walk. The walk begins at the main Windmont Park Shelter. Refreshments will be provided after the event.
The entry fee of $15 includes a t-shirt for individuals who are pre-registered by September 8, 2017. Event registrations will be accepted up until the start of the walk with a t-shirt provided after.
