We are proud to announce a new addition to our Healing Paws team at OSF Saint Paul Medical Center. He’s very friendly, easy to get close to and will lift the spirits of any patient.
His name is “Shadow”, a 6-year old Black Cockapoo, which is a mix between a Cocker Spaniel and a Poodle. Cockapoos are an adorable, small dog with the personality of a clown.
Specially trained therapy dogs and their owners will, visit the hospital to bring comfort to patients, reduce stress, anxiety, pain, blood pressure, while increasing patient social interaction and communication.
A visit from one of our therapy dogs can make a patients day. “I have witnessed the joy that our dogs bring to our patients and their families”, says OSF Saint Paul Medical Center President Jennifer Junis.
