The Illinois Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Network support students as they follow their dreams to become health care professionals. They are giving students the opportunity to inspire others by hosting a video contest to promote health careers.
The contest is open to Illinois high school and college students currently enrolled in a health professions related program and who reside in (or are from) a participating AHEC county.
First, second and third place videos will be awarded for high school students and college students. Winning videos will be selected by a panel of judges. The AHEC Program enhances access to high quality, culturally competent health care through academic-community partnerships to ultimately improve the distribution, diversity, and supply of the primary care health professions workforce who serve in rural and underserved health care delivery sites. The overall Goal of the Illinois AHEC network is to enhance access to quality healthcare, particularly primary and preventive care, by improving the supply and distribution of healthcare professions through community/academic partnerships.The West Central Illinois AHEC serves the following counties: Adams, Brown, Calhoun, Cass, Fulton, Green, Hancock, Henderson, Jersey, Knox, Macoupin, Mason, McDonough, Morgan, Pike, Schuyler, Scott, and Warren.
