Visitor Restrictions at OSF Saint Anthony Due to Flu Activity

2/09/2017 - Rockford, Illinois

Because of increased flu activity in the area, OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, in conjunction with the Winnebago County Health Department, is instituting visitor restrictions at the hospital, effective Friday, February 10, 2017

Those restrictions include:

  • No visitation by anyone who is ill with any respiratory symptoms including coughing, fever, chills, headache, vomiting, sore throat, muscle aches or diarrhea.
  • No visitation by anyone under the age of 18 years old, even if they have received the seasonal flu vaccine.

These restrictions will be in effect until further notice.

We ask that our patients, their family members and friends respect our need to control the health care environment for our patients and their care.

Additionally, we ask all visitors to wash hands with soap and water, use alcohol-based hand rub (available at the entrance to every patient room), or antiseptic hand wash before entering and exiting a patient room.

OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center will continue to monitor the presence of seasonal flu virus and reserves the right to implement additional restrictions should the health and safety of patients determine that such action is necessary.

If you have questions regarding these restrictions, please call OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center at 815.226.2000.
