6/01/2017 - Pontiac, Illinois

May 15, 2017 – Women Empowered Livingston County – WE Live – has announced its third education event for women, designed to improve four areas of health and use the power of women networking with other women.

“Girl Talk” will be held on Wednesday, June 21 at First United Methodist Church, 219 N. Chicago Street in Pontiac. Vendor booths will open at 5:30 p.m. and the program will be from 6:15 to 8 p.m.  Presentations and guest discussion will address four challenging topics for busy women:  physical health, spiritual health, healthy relationships and stress management. Dessert will be provided.

Reservations are required by June 16 and can be made by calling (309) 661-5151 or emailing Nancy.G.Kuster@osfhealthcare.org.  Child care will be provided. The number and ages of children should be provided when registering.

Women Empowered Livingston County – or WE Live – launched in 2016 to promote women’s health and champion women’s services at OSF HealthCare Saint James – John W. Albrecht Medical Center. Events allow the community a chance to invest personal funds and passion to help innovate new programming and inspire new gifts and services.

“This is a wonderful initiative, bringing like-minded women together to volunteer their time, provide education to the women of Livingston County, and raise funds to expand women’s services through OSF HealthCare,” explains Nancy Kuster, Pontiac resident and eastern region cardiopulmonary services manager for OSF HealthCare.

The group’s first project partially funded the renovation of OSF Saint James’ women’s outpatient diagnostic/mammography suite. The finished suite includes new dressing rooms, a new waiting area, a refreshment station for diagnostic days, a restroom, and a gown warmer, improving privacy and comfort.

Individuals interested in supporting WE Live can call Kim Weeks, Director of Philanthropy – Eastern Region, OSF Healthcare Foundation at (309) 665-4901.
