The OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center Auxiliary recently donated $32,500 to the medical center for nurse tuition assistance. The check was presented by Auxiliary President Peggy Haase to OSF Saint James President Brad Solberg and Vice President of Patient Services Liz Davidson at the group’s March 14 board meeting.  Of the total, $30,000 came from OSF Saint James gift shop sales and $2,500 from fundraisers hosted by the auxiliary throughout the year.

Tuition assistance will benefit both non-nurses and existing registered nurses with two-year degrees who are studying to attain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. “It’s strategically important to OSF Saint James and the communities we serve to help the men and women who will be our health professionals in the decades to come. This generous gift will make it possible for more of them to continue their studies and achieve their goals,” shared Liz Davidson.

Students with questions about tuition assistance can contact Clare Brust at Clare.K.Brust@osfhealthcare.org or (815) 842-4923.
