A small gathering took place on Thursday for the blessing and dedication of the newly renovated oncology clinic at OSF St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group in Escanaba.

Father Emmett Norden, Chaplain at OSF St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group who conducted the blessing and dedication said it is a very special step in serving patients with the greatest care and love.

The newly renovated oncology suite, budgeted at $800,000, offers floor to ceiling windows, an improved and expanded private infusion room, new treatment chairs with 15” tablets for patients to use while receiving treatment, and a modern treatment area that allows for companionship or privacy.

“We are very excited to be offering an improved care environment to our oncology patients. When going through treatment, we want our patients to be as comfortable as possible,” said Dave Lord, President of OSF St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group. “In addition to the aesthetic improvements, the newly renovated suite provides a more efficient workflow for our staff which contributes a great deal to the improved care environment for our patients.”

Renovations to the oncology clinic were made possible by the generous contributions of Greg and Linda Yagodzinski, OSF St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group employee campaigns and capital funding. Patients will begin receiving treatment in the new clinic next week.

OSF St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group and Green Bay Oncology have a continued partnership to provide cancer care to the community. The oncology clinic is staffed Monday through Friday with Green Bay Oncology clinicians providing oncology and hematology services to patients in Escanaba
