Shoe Drive Benefits Local Organizations, Residents

11/13/2017 - Pontiac, Illinois

  • Boxes filled with shoes ready for distribution to five local organizations.

A recent shoe drive at OSF HealthCare Saint James – John W. Albrecht Medical Center gathered 450 pairs of shoes for several area organizations and the individuals who access their services.

In celebration of National Physical Therapy Month in October, the physical therapy team at OSF HealthCare Saint James held a shoe drive, choosing to honor their profession by giving back to the communities in which they live and work. Donation bins in the medical center’s atrium lobby and south entrance were available throughout the month for OSF employees and visitors to drop off gently used or new shoes.

Shoes have been distributed to several local organizations, including Hope Pregnancy Center, Livingston County Health Department, the St. Vincent De Paul Pantry at St. Mary’s Church, and the Salvation Army.
