Ottawa, IL (September 25, 2017) – A recently competed survey by an independent health care accreditation organization awarded high marks to OSF HealthCare Saint Elizabeth Medical Center and OSF Center for Health – Streator.
“Overall, the survey was extremely positive”, says Holly Purrazzo, Director of Quality at OSF HealthCare Saint Elizabeth.
The review is one of more than 20-thousand conducted by the Joint Commission aimed at improving health care for the public. Accreditation certifies an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards.
Purrazzo says, “The surveyors could see that OSF is a high quality organization dedicated to the safe care of our patients. They commended our staff and leaders for using best practices. They were also very positive about how OSF Saint Elizabeth utilizes the data we collect to improve the care we provide our patients.”
Purrazzo added, “A surveyor asked to take one of our Mission Partners to other facilities, so she could show others what best practice is.”
The accreditation is good for three years.
Purrazzo credits the positive survey to the daily commitment by the entire medical center staff to OSF’s cultural beliefs. “Because we are focused on our cultural beliefs, including, but not limited to, being accountable, embracing decisions and aligning priorities, we’re doing the right things and meeting standards. We take extra effort to ensure that our patients are safe and their care is of the highest quality.”
