Being a new mother comes with a lot of questions. That’s why OSF HealthCare St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group, through OSF Innovation, is offering Circle by OSF, a no-cost app that supports women through pregnancy, motherhood and beyond. The idea is to make it easier for patients to better prepare for child birth and parenthood, get linked to OSF resources and improve the overall patient experience.
The technology platform provides health-tracking tools that can be shared with providers during appointments; answers questions about pregnancy, babies and parenting through articles provided by the care team; offers information about local classes and community support services; and guides patients through every stage of pregnancy and childhood through a to-do checklist.
“There are so many pregnancy and parenting resources available online; it can be overwhelming to women who are expecting for the first time in their lives,” said
Dr. Kim Johnson, OB/GYN and Director of Physician Practices at OSF St. Francis. This app includes the most current and trusted health information, all in one place—alleviating the information overload patients can face.”
Circle by OSF was initially designed for women who were pregnant for the first time. However, OSF saw a need to build out the app, so women can continue to use the tool as they raise their children.
“It will help women care for themselves and their families throughout their entire health care journey,” said Matthew Warrens, Vice President of Innovation Partnerships for OSF. “We want Circle by OSF to be an important resource on child development and the health care information women will need as they age.”
