OSF HealthCare St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group will once again sponsor Corporate Day at the U.P. State Fair on Wednesday, August 15. OSF St. Francis Hospital staff will be located in the Activities Tent near the Gate 9 entrance, from 12 to 8 p.m. The staff of OSF will offer a clean, shaded area for fairgoers to rest, rehydrate and refuel.
“We wanted to try something different this year and simply provide fairgoers with resources that may otherwise be limited”, said Lindsey Stearns, Community Relations Specialist for OSF St. Francis. “We know that many mothers are looking for a clean, private area to sit down and nurse their babies and we want to give them a space that meets their needs”. Stearns says it is one of many opportunities for OSF HealthCare to partner with the Delta County Breastfeeding Coalition to support breastfeeding mothers and a great time to do it, as August is breastfeeding awareness month.
OSF HealthCare also invites fairgoers to come to the activities tent for a clean, shaded area to sit down and enjoy their favorite vendor’s foods and free lemon-infused water. A handwashing station will be conveniently located in the tent near the tables, to promote proper hand hygiene. “We know that a warm sunny day at the fair can call for intermittent rests and rehydration and we’re happy to provide a space for fairgoers to do just that,” said Stearns.
OSF HealthCare employees will also provide free screenings in the grandstands from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15 at the Wellness event. First Aid Services will be provided by OSF staff from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. the week of the fair and can be found in the First Aid Station in front of the entrance at Gate #9.
