OSF HealthCare St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group is pleased to welcome Dr. Michael Czerkes, Board Certified OBGYN, to their Medical Staff.
A native of Charlevoix, Michigan, Dr. Czerkes earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Michigan State University before going on to earn his Doctor of Medicine at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. His residency was completed at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. During his residency, he also attended the Pope Paul VI Institute in Omaha, Nebraska, earning certification as a Natural Family Planning Consultant.
The last five years of his career has been spent at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine where he was a full-time OBGYN, Chair of the Women and Children’s Department and the Director of Opiate Addiction Treatment Program in Pregnancy.
Dr. Czerkes has settled into the Upper Peninsula with his wife and six children and is excited to be part of the small-town atmosphere and the OSF HealthCare culture. “One of the things that drew me to OSF is the true commitment to patient care and how my approach to care aligns with the Mission. I spend time getting to know my patients well and then work to find a solution to their needs. I am open and honest and believe in a teamwork approach to patient care.”
Joining Drs. Kim Johnson, David Hamacher, Casey Sager, Michael DeGroot, and Holly Johnson, NP at the OSF St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group Women’s Center, Dr. Czerkes began seeing patients January 5. Located at 3409 Ludington Street, Suite 204, Dr. Czerkes sees patients Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
