PJ Hoerr, a Peoria-based contractor, has been hired to oversee the $30.5 million renovation of the OSF Center for Health - Streator.
PJ Hoerr has been in the construction and contracting business for more than 100 years. Chairman and CEO, Bob Hoerr says, “Integrity – it’s why we have been working with OSF HealthCare for over 30 years. Our main goal is to be as least disruptive as possible throughout the 18-month project,” stated Hoerr.
The Center for Health renovation is a key element of OSF's overall plan to promote health and wellness in a community and region that has a limited population, as well as transportation, but still must be served. “The building renovations are just a piece of a larger initiative,” stated Don Damron, Vice President of Ambulatory Services. “We are working with community partners to learn how to best deliver health care services to rural communities for generations to come and Streator is paving the way.”
Both exterior and interior renovations are planned for the Spring Street facility. These include a new entrance and lobby, upgrades to registration, with the addition of a tech bar for computer users. OSF specialty clinics, rehabilitation, primary care and diagnostic imaging improvements are planned. To advance its partnership with local residents and organizations, OSF is adding community education and meeting rooms.
“We are glad to see the investment OSF HealthCare is making in the Streator community,” stated Tara Bedei, Streator City Council Member. “The reinvigoration of the current structure provides a resource that will last for generations to come.”
